How much does shipping cost?

We believe in simple, predictable shipping with no surprises. We offer a flat rate for all orders, which means the price is the same no matter how many items you purchase.

  • $8 Flat Rate Shipping to Indiana and surrounding states (Ohio, Illinois, Kentucky, and Michigan).
  • $10 Flat Rate Shipping to the rest of the continental USA.
  • FREE Shipping on all orders of $75 or more!
Do you offer local pickup?

Yes, we do! While we don't have our own physical storefront, we offer two convenient ways to pick up your order locally.

1. Pickup at PJ's Pink Boutique in Fortville

We've partnered with the lovely PJ's Pink Boutique to serve as a local pickup point.

  • How it works: Simply select the "Local Pickup" option at checkout. Please allow 5+ days for us to prepare your order and deliver it to the boutique. We will send you a "Ready for Pickup" email notification the moment it's available.

2. Pickup at Local Markets & Events

We occasionally offer order pickups at the markets and events we attend.

  • How it works: Please check our Market Schedule page for available dates and locations. If you'd like to pick up at an event, place your order as usual, and leave us a note on the cart page or email us with your request. We will have your order ready and will refund your shipping fee upon pickup.
Can I apply a discount code to an order I have already placed?

No, discount codes must be used when the order is placed. We're unable to apply them retroactively.

Can I use multiple discounts or offers on my order?

Yes, in many cases you can! We want you to get the best value, so we've designed our offers to be as flexible as possible.

Discount Codes: You can use ONE discount code per order. This includes codes from your Scent Society rewards (like a $5 off reward) or special promotional codes (like a 15% off holiday offer).

Automatic Discounts: Automatic discounts do not require a code and can be combined with most discount codes. This means you can use your rewards code or another promo code on top of great deals that apply automatically in your cart (i.e. bundle discounts or free shipping on $75+).

Choosing Between Different Discount Codes: Since only one code can be used at a time, here’s what happens if you try to use more than one:

If you apply a new code that gives you a larger discount, our system will automatically replace the previous one for you.

If you try to apply a code of a lesser value than the one already active, you may see an error message. To use the new code, you would first need to remove the original one from your cart.

Do you offer expedited shipping?

Yes! If you need your order extra fast, please contact us before placing your order to discuss options and pricing.

Can I include a gift message with my order?

Absolutely! Add your personalized message in the "Notes" section on the cart page. If you add one of our penny postcards to your order, we'll handwrite your message. Otherwise, it prints on the packing slip. We never include pricing with gift orders.

What if my order arrives damaged?

Oh no! Please contact us immediately with photos of the damaged item(s) and any damage to the shipping box. We'll send a replacement at no additional cost. If a replacement isn't available, a full refund will be issued.

Can I change or cancel my order after it is placed?

We aim to process orders quickly! If you need to change or cancel an order, please contact us as soon as possible. We'll do our best to accommodate your request, but cannot guarantee changes once processing has begun.

Can you keep my credit card on file?

For your security, we do not access or store any credit card information on file. All payments are securely processed through Shopify. You can store payment methods directly with providers like PayPal or Shop Pay.

Do you ship internationally?

At this time, Abboo Candle Co. ships only within the United States.

Local Pick Up

How does local pickup work?

Simply select the "Local Pickup" option at checkout. You will place and complete your order 100% on our website. Once your order is ready, we will drop it off at our local partner, PJ's Pink Boutique. You will then receive a "Ready for Pickup" notification email from us. Please wait for this specific notification before heading to the boutique.

When will my order be ready for pickup?

When you select local pickup at checkout, the estimated fulfillment time will show as "Ready in 5+ days." This window allows us the time needed to prepare your order and deliver it to PJ's Pink Boutique during their business hours. You will receive an email notification from us the moment your order has been dropped off and is officially ready for you to pick up.

What if I ordered a "Made to Order" item?

If your order includes an item listed as "Made to Order," please note that its specific processing time will be in addition to the standard 5+ day window required for us to drop off your order for pickup.

What are the pickup hours?

You can pick up your order during PJ's Pink Boutique's regular business hours:

  • Tuesday - Saturday: 11:00 AM - 5:00 PM
  • Sunday: 12:00 PM - 4:00 PM
  • Monday: Closed

We always recommend checking the PJ's Pink Boutique Facebook page or calling them ahead to confirm their hours, as we do not have access to their day-to-day operations.

What do I need to bring with me?

When you arrive at the boutique, please go to the checkout counter and provide the staff with the first and last name on your Abboo Candle Co. order.

Can the staff at PJ's Pink Boutique help me with my order?

The employees at PJ's Pink Boutique do not have access to our customer or order information. They will not be able to provide status updates or answer any questions about your order. They can only confirm whether an order under your name has been dropped off.

Why don't I see the local pickup option at checkout?

Our free local pickup option is exclusively available to customers within a specific radius of our Fortville, IN pickup location.

The visibility of this option is automatically determined by the ZIP code you enter in your shipping address at checkout. If your ZIP code falls outside of our designated local area (which includes Fortville and nearby surrounding towns), the pickup option will not be displayed, and you will only see our standard shipping rates.

If you believe your address should be eligible but don't see the option, please double-check that your shipping ZIP code is entered correctly. You can also send us an email or use the chat to inquire about eligibility.

How do I join the Abboo Scent Society?

It's free to join! Simply create an account on our website. You'll automatically become a Scent Explorer and start earning points with your first purchase.

How do I earn points?

Earn points on every dollar spent (5 points for $1). You can also earn bonus points for leaving verified reviews, following us on social media, sharing our website, and on your birthday! Visit our Rewards page for all earning opportunities.

How do I redeem my points?

Log in to your account and go to your cart page. There, you'll see your point balance and can select how many points to redeem for a discount ($1 off for every 100 points, up to $30 off). Your discount applies automatically.

Do my reward points expire?

Yes, reward points expire 12 months from the date they are earned. We'll send you reminders!

How do I advance to higher tiers (Scent Enthusiast, Scent Connoisseur)?

You advance tiers based on your net spending. Scent Enthusiast: $200+ net sales. Scent Connoisseur: $500+ net sales. You can track your progress in your rewards dashboard.

What benefits do I get with each tier?

Each tier unlocks exclusive perks! Scent Explorer: Base earning, free shipping on $75+. Scent Enthusiast: Higher earning (7x points), free shipping on $50+, one-time 15% off discount. How do I maintain my Scent Enthusiast or Scent Connoisseur status? Does it ever expire?

Once you unlock a VIP tier, we make it simple to keep your perks!

To maintain your status, simply make at least one purchase of any amount once every six months. As long as you're shopping with us semi-annually, your VIP benefits are secure.

For example, if you place an order on May 1st, your VIP status is locked in through November 1st.

If six months pass without an order, your account will reset to Tier 1 status. But don't worry—this only affects your tier benefits like special shipping, not your accumulated points balance.

The great news is you can re-earn your status at any time! As soon as your spending qualifies you again, you’ll jump right back into your VIP tier.

How should I store my Abboo Candle Co. products?

Store products in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.

Do Abboo Candle Co. candles expire?

While scents may subtly evolve over a long time, our candles don't truly "expire." Stored properly, they retain quality for a long time. We always recommend enjoying them!

Why does my candle jar look slightly uneven?

Our tumbler and 3-wick jars are crafted from hand-blown glass. Slight variations in shape or thickness are natural and add to each piece's unique charm!

What if a scent I loved is no longer available?

If a scent isn't on our website, it's likely been retired. While some may return, others may not. You're welcome to contact us to see if we have remaining supply for a special order.

Do you offer scent samples?

Yes! We include a free wax melt heart sample with every order. You can request a specific scent in the "Notes" section on the cart page, and we'll do our best to include it if available!

For larger samples or to try a new scent without committing to a full-size candle, our 6 oz Gold Tin Candles are available for purchase. You can also purchase individual Wax Melt Cubes to explore any of our fragrances.

How strong will my candle or home fragrance smell?

The intensity of fragrance (or "scent throw") can depend on the scent itself, the room size, and individual sensitivity. Our soy candles are designed to provide a clean burn with a moderate to strong scent throw, creating a pleasant ambiance in appropriately sized spaces. Flameless options like room sprays and wax melts often offer a more immediate and customizable burst of fragrance.

Candle Troubleshooting

Why is my candle smoking, sooty, or "mushrooming" on the wick?

This is usually due to a wick that's too long or has carbon buildup. Always trim your wick to 1/4 inch before each burn for a clean, smoke-free experience and proper flame height. Wick trimmers and dippers are great tools!

Why can't I smell my candle while it's burning anymore?

You might be experiencing "olfactory fatigue" (or "nose blind"). Try leaving the room for a few minutes and returning. The scent should be noticeable again. Ensure your wick is trimmed and the candle is in an appropriately sized space for optimal throw.

Why does my soy candle look bumpy after burning, or have "wet spots" on the jar?

These are common and completely normal characteristics of natural soy wax! Bumpy surfaces or "wet spots" (where wax pulls from the jar) are cosmetic. They happen as wax expands/contracts with temperature changes and do not affect the candle's performance or scent.

What are your fragrance oils made of, and are they safe?

Our premium fragrance oils blend natural and high-quality synthetic aromatic ingredients. All are Prop 65 compliant, 100% phthalate-free, and adhere to strict RIFM/IFRA standards, ensuring they're clean and safe for home use. We don't recommend use on the body as they aren't tested for that purpose.

What are your wicks made of?

Our wicks are made from 100% natural cotton fibers and paper threads. They are lead and zinc-free for a clean, safe burn.

What are the benefits of using soy wax?

We love soy wax! It's domestically sourced, renewable, and clean-burning. Unlike other waxes, it doesn't contain petrol-soot or emit toxins. Our wax is also free of animal-derived substances, making it vegan-friendly.

Will Abboo Candle Co. products give me a headache?

Many customers sensitive to traditional candles (especially paraffin) find our soy wax candles a great alternative. Soy wax provides a cleaner burn and typically has a lighter, more subtle scent throw, which can be less irritating.

Why don't you use 100% essential oils in your candles?

While we do incorporate candle-safe essential oils in some blends, we primarily use a blend of natural/synthetic ingredients. This is because 100% essential oils can be complex or toxic when burned, and many therapeutic properties are lost to heat. Our blends prioritize optimal scent throw and safety.

What are phthalates, and are your products phthalate-free?

Phthalates (specifically DEP) are solvents sometimes used in fragrances. However, all of our fragrances are 100% phthalate-free. We are committed to providing clean and safe home fragrance products.

Is your soy wax vegan and cruelty-free?

Yes! Our soy wax is free of animal-derived substances and is cruelty-free, making it completely vegan-friendly.

How are gift cards delivered?

All gift cards are delivered digitally via email to the address you provide at checkout.

Can I send a gift card directly to a recipient and schedule delivery?

Yes! Enter the recipient's email at purchase. You can schedule the delivery date and include a personal message. Please double-check the email, as we can't change it once sent.

Do Abboo Candle Co. gift cards expire?

Purchased gift cards do not expire. Promotional gift cards may have a specific expiration date; please check the terms on your card.

Can I return or exchange a gift card for cash?

No, gift cards are non-refundable and cannot be exchanged for cash.

What if my gift card is lost or stolen?

Unfortunately, we are unable to replace lost or stolen gift card emails. Please treat your gift card email like cash.

Do you offer physical gift cards?

We do not offer physical gift cards, but we can email you a printable template to include with your gift!

Can I use my gift card at in-person markets or retail partners?

You can use your Abboo Candle Co. gift card at our in-person markets. However, gift cards cannot be redeemed at other retail partners who carry Abboo Candle Co. products.

Shop Pay Installments is a payment option for qualified orders that lets you split your purchase into 4 equal, interest-free installment payments. Monthly plans with interest may also be available.

Are there any fees for using Shop Pay Installments?

For the bi-weekly (4-payment) plan, there are generally no additional charges, interest rates, or late fees. Monthly plans may have interest. All terms are set by Shop Pay and are subject to their policies.

Will using Shop Pay Installments affect my credit score?

There is no impact on your credit score to apply or check eligibility. Your payment plan and repayment activity may be reported to credit bureaus. This is subject to Shop Pay's terms.

Is there a purchase limit for Shop Pay Installments?
