Beyond the Burn: Giving Your Abboo Jars a Second Life

Beyond the Burn: Giving Your Abboo Jars a Second Life

At Abboo, we want our vessels to be as beautiful as the fragrance inside them. One of the best parts about using high-quality, soft soy wax is that it isn’t just a cleaner burn—it’s also incredibly easy to clean out once the candle is finished.

If you’ve been saving your jars because they’re "too pretty to toss," this guide is for you.

The Easy Clean-Up (No Freezer Required!)

Since our soy wax is soft, you don't need to mess around with your freezer to get the leftovers out.

  1. The Spoon Pop: Once your candle has reached the end of its life (leave about 1/2" of wax), use a spoon to gently pop the remaining wax out of the jar.

  2. Soap & Water: Wash the jar with warm, soapy water. Since soy wax is water-soluble, it should come clean quite easily.

  3. The Final Polish: If you find a little stubborn residue inside the jar—or if you’ve removed the label and have some adhesive left on the outside—here is my favorite trick: put a little isopropyl alcohol on a microfiber cloth and give it a quick rub. It’ll look brand new in seconds.

5 Ways to Repurpose Your Jars

Whether you’re using our Tumblers or 3-Wick jars, there’s a second life waiting for every vessel.

  • The Desk Organizer: Our tumblers are the perfect height to live on your desk as a pencil cup. It’s a great way to keep your favorite "Work of Heart" or "Draw Your Own" label on display while you work.

  • The Treat Jar: Clean out a 3-wick jar and fill it with candies, chocolates, or even a gift card. It makes for a beautiful, sustainable gift vessel for a friend.

  • The Succulent/Small Plant Planter: Our jars make for a fantastic home for a small succulent or a tiny plant. Just remember to add a layer of small pebbles at the bottom for drainage!

  • The Short-Stem Vase: If you’ve got a few blooms from the garden or a bouquet of "flowers" from your kiddos, our 3-wick jar is the perfect height for short-stemmed blooms to brighten up a windowsill.

  • The Vanity Jar: Use it to hold makeup brushes, cotton rounds, or hair ties.
