What makes soy wax so great?
Soy wax is biodegradable and comes from a natural, renewable resource. Our soy wax comes from soybeans grown right here in the USA. Soy wax does not contain petrol-soot (aka the icky stuff that causes black marks on the wall or ceiling). Candles made from soy wax will not emit toxins. Soy wax burns longer and cleaner than paraffin wax.
How can I get the best burn time?
Avoid burning your candle in drafts caused by open windows, ceiling fans, and air currents. Keep your wick trimmed to 1/4 inch to avoid carbon build up, excessive smoking or large flames. Allow your candle to burn for an average of 4 hours at a time for an even burn and the best aroma.
How should I store my soy candle?
Store your candle in a cool, dry place. If exposed to sunlight for prolonged periods of time, soy candles may discolor or fade.
Why does my candle have a rough surface?
Soy wax is natural. It does not cool with a perfectly smooth candle top and may appear bumpy or develop small crystals (often referred to as frosting). Both of these traits are purely cosmetic and do not affect the performance of your candle. In an effort to provide you with a clean, environmentally-friendly and natural soy wax candle, Abboo Candle Co does not blend other waxes or use additives in our candles.
Why is there soot coming from my soy wax candle?
While soy candles do not emit toxins, you may see soot begin to accumulate on the container if the wick is longer than 1/4 inch, there is a draft around your candle or the candle has been burning for more than 4 hours. It's important to note that this is NOT the same as the toxic soot left from paraffin candles. The soot wipes away easily and trimming the wick, moving the candle away from drafts and/or reducing burn time should help.
What is this big ball on the end of my wick?
This is normal and often referred to as mushrooming. It is caused by carbon deposits on the wick, often created from longer burn times. Mushrooming tends to be more common in heavier or floral scented candles.
Can I reuse the glass container my candle came in?
Yes, you can. Because soy wax burns clean all you need is warm water and soap. Follow us on Pinterest for ideas on how to reuse your containers.
What's a phthalate?
There are many types and classifications of phthalates, some are considered harmful and others harmless. Within the group, there are different types of phthalates that are used for different purposes, one of which is commonly used in fragrance oils.
The particular type of phthalates creating a concern for human health is typically used to allow plastic products to become flexible without compromising their strength. This type of phthalate is not the same as those that are used in creating fragrance oils.
Phthalates used in fragrance oils, known as DEP (Diethyl Phthalate), are solvents used to extend the aromatic strength of the candle fragrance oil. DEP has been found to be non-toxic in skin products and candles if used at safe levels (IFRA – Background Paper – Phthalates – Final 12.2007).
Do you use essential oils in your candles?
No, we do not use essential oils in our candles because essential oils are not ideal for high heat temperatures, such as a candle. Essential oils will either burn off in a candle or may even become toxic. Some of our fragrance oils are blended with a safe, candle-grade amount of essential oils.
What are your wicks made of?
Our wicks are made from natural flat cotton threads interwoven with a paper filament. Our wicks are lead and zinc free.
Why do I have wax left in my warmer after the fragrance is gone?
There is no flame when you use a wax warmer. Wax will not completely evaporate simply by being heated. You'll also get a stronger scent throw if you use less wax in your warmer.
When do you ship orders?
Soy wax is sensitive to extreme temperatures. In an attempt to avoid your candles sitting in a shipping facility over the weekend we ship orders out Monday through Wednesday. You can view our Shipping Policy for more information.

Wax Melt Packs - approximately 8-16 hours per cube or 48-96 hours per pack
